Amazon.com: Classical music has been scientifically proven to encourage cognitive development in young children. Baby Beethoven, a 29-minute Baby Einstein production, presents excerpts from five of the composer's most famous symphonies, as well as incidental music, in a child-friendly, sensory-rich format. Familiar Beethoven themes like the Ode to Joy from his Ninth Symphony are playfully rendered on electric piano and accompanied by colorful images of toys in action, puppetry, and babies at play. The musical excerpts are relatively short and the imagery is quick-paced and varied enough to grab the limited attention span of viewers age 1 to 36 months. Unlike previous Baby Einstein presentations, each symphonic excerpt (though not the incidental music) is labeled--a feature that encourages further exploration of favorite pieces. Baby Beethoven is an aural and visual feast that promotes creativity, mental awareness, and an appreciation for classical music in infants, toddlers, and their parents. --Tami Horiuchi

My 9 month old daughter started watching Baby Beethoven at about 6 weeks and loved it immediately. This is still, hands down, her favorite Baby Einstein DVD. She smiles just seeing the Disney intro and caterpillar. When she is truly fussy the DVD is the only thing that calms her down. I highly recommend it for younger babies.

My 15 month old daughter was enraptured by this DVD from the first time I put it on. The format is great and it's a very charming package. I have to say this was the first time I have danced to Fur Elise! Appears to be a very attractive program for this age range and I would highly recommend it. The main piece is only about 30 minutes long, but there is an auto play feature which allows it to be continuously repeated.
On the downside there is a LOT of preamble to the actual program and ... Read More

Since receiving this product, my baby girl has been mezmerized by the DVD from the first time she watched it at 4 months. As a mom, I love the music (it doesn't get better than Beethoven!), the used of shapes, colors, and characters in the Baby Einstein series, as well as the fact that it provides a great opportunity for my baby and I to interact TOGETHER along with the DVD talking about what we see and learning new things each time we watch it. It's fascinating to watch, even for me as an adult! ... Read More

My child was a Baby Einstein fan. We started by introducing him to the Baby Beethoven DVD when he was only a few months old. In no time, he began to respond to the sights and sounds. Before long we had the whole Baby Einstein series. Children seem to grasp and understand (in their own unique way) by watching and interacting. Even now at almost seven years old, my son likes classical music and especially the featured tracks from the DVD. I think any program that seems to educate your children early on ... Read More
